According to the report, Meta has announced that it will soon change its policy regarding the Arabic word ‘Shaheed’ on its websites and applications.

Yes, the report stated that META announced to change its policy on the word Arabic on the recommendations of the monitoring committee or committee it had established.

A policy body set up by META had recommended in March 2024 to drop the Arabic word ‘Shaheed’.

The company says that the ‘martyr’ policy will be changed, in the future Facebook and Instagram will only remove or delete posts with the word ‘martyr’ that contain violence.

The Arabic word ‘Shaheed’ is used not only in the Middle East but also in non-Muslim majority countries including Islamic countries around the world, but META had shadow banned it for many years.

It should be noted that Arabic posts with ‘Shaheed’ were restricted or deleted on Facebook and Instagram, for which the company faced severe criticism.
